I SUPPORT GROUPS THROUGH CONFLICT, CHANGE, AND TRANSFORMATION - AND TOWARDS VISIONARY FUTURES.

FACILITATION OFFERINGS

Facilitation work is tailored to the specific needs of a group or organization, and may include one or many of the following offerings:

RETREAT FACILITATION

Retreat Facilitation is tailored to the group’s needs and goals. Often, this is supporting groups through challenging, necessary, and/or critical conversations. Through an array of facilitation tools and strategies, I design a structure and process that invites everyone to input their thoughts and opinions, and moves towards trustbuilding, collective investment, and the intended outcomes of the retreat.

ANTI-RACISM AND ANTI-OPPRESSION TRAININGS

Anti-oppression trainings engage your group in unpacking the ways that white supremacy culture and anti-Blackness persists in your organization. We will define language and frameworks, identify how these patterns show up in our work spaces, and work through scenarios on how we can disrupt them. Participants leave trainings with tangible and applicable tools to apply to their work.

VALUES-LED STRATEGIC PLANNING

Together, we will identify multiple key areas where gaps exist between values and practice and/or central questions a group may keep circling around but never has the time or capacity to answer. We will choose strategic priorities to focus on, and then create a  plan to bring us a group in deeper alignment with their values. Through this process, we will build the muscle of democratic decision making and structuring organizations towards the world we imagine possible.

SKILLS-BASED WORKSHOPS

Skills-based workshops are engaging, interactive, and dialogue-based sessions that build participants’ skills in areas including group facilitation, giving and receiving feedback, and navigating conflict. Workshops are tailored to the specific area of growth your group is invested in skillbuilding around. Participants leave workshops with tangible and applicable tools to apply to their work.

THEORY OF CHANGE WORK

Through a series of facilitated workshops or a retreat, I support groups and organizations in creating a theory of change that underlies and guides their future work. Components of this facilitated process include articulating collective values and beliefs, and crafting vision and core strategies.

COACHING

I offer one-on-one coaching to resource individuals and leaders as an organization moves through change and transformation. Coaching is tailored to the specific goals of an individual, but can include topics like conflict coaching, unpacking privilege, articulating and applying values, and resilience building.

  • TESTIMONIALS

“Sara is a natural facilitator. Working alongside her was imperative to my growth as an anti-racist educator. I often sought her advice and feedback for building content, creating activities and responding to participants in real time. Her work demonstrates how to create a learning environment that puts the onus on participants to make sense of the world as she guides them through the experience.”

    - Brittanee Rolle, educator at Noble Network Schools in Chicago, IL

  • “This workshop was extraordinarily powerful. Naming White Supremacy Culture and having us unpack conflicts that were incredibly close to our actual issues is actually preparing us to be in those real conflicts and hold the new tools we learned as we move through it. I need so much more practice, but I am no longer petrified of conflict at work.”

    - Staff Member at Unite for Reproductive and Gender Equity (URGE)

  • “Sara provided our organization with the necessary tools to not only recognize, but also to disrupt the systemic racial oppression and injustices that our communities face. As an organization doing work in the context of Settler Colonialism and on Indigenous land, these conversations are important and can sometimes be uncomfortable. Sara's ability to facilitate difficult conversations so lovingly is very much appreciated. I highly recommend Sara to lead your next workshop on anti-racism and anti-oppression!”

    - Community Organizer at Faith Action for Community Equity in Honolulu, HI

  • “Sara and So were both such warm and welcoming co-facilitators! They truly did a great job creating a wonderful, comprehensive workshop. I was impressed by the delivery as I learned a lot and felt it was a really valuable learning experience. I appreciated the historical context around model minority myth and connections made to white supremacy culture. I highly recommend this workshop as I found it to be one of the best trainings/workshops I have been to!”
